Stock Selection Methodology

The Stock Genius mobile application was officially launched in the Apple App store on August 8th, 2017. None of the positions identified by Stock Genius before its launch were made public and are all the result of backtesting. Back-tested calculations are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. No hypothetical record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. Back-tested performance is not actual performance, but is hypothetical. The returns shown throughout the application do not represent the results of actual trading of investable assets/securities. Past returns do not reflect payment of any sales charges or fees an investor may pay to purchase any securities identified by he application. The imposition of these fees and charges would cause actual and back-tested performance of the securities to be lower than the performance
shown.
 

All of the stock selctions, and their performance shown in the "Past Picks" section of the application from February 2010 through August 2017 were produced using a methodology identifying 10 positions from a group of hedge fund managers holdings obtained by viewing publicly available 13-F data. The methodology used to produce these positions, both the list of managers and the process for identifying specific holdings, is proprietary but was consistently used in the backtest during this period. A more detailed explanation of the specific process used is available upon request.  Stock Genius made every reasonable effort to consistently apply the same methodology for each quarter's worth of data but cannot guarantee total accuracy.  
 

At the time Stock Genius was launched in the Apple App store on August 8th, 2017, the stocks in the "Current Picks" section were identified using the same list of managers and the same process for identifying specific securities. Going forward, Stock Genius reserves the right to change the list of managers used or the process used to identify specific holdings at any time and for any reason we deem necessary.
